How it works

The sample to be analyzed consists of a mixture of compounds dissolved in a solvent. It is injected into the mobile phase (solvent) stream that is pumped through the chromatographic column at high pressure. The various compounds in the sample interact differently with the stationary phase inside the column, separating temporally as they leave the column. The separated compounds are detected by the detector, which generates signals proportional to the amount of each component. These signals are then analyzed and recorded by the data management system.
